Why was the name Buddizz chosen?
The BUDDIZZ brand name was created by Shirley and Kelsey Saunders. Since the name Buddy was not available, the name was changed by adding two D's and two Z's. BUDDIZZ stands for "the invitation's best friend. Let me explain. When you have a party or get together, your Buddizz products will support your "No Shoes House" practice.

Shirley Saunders, MSN, APRN-BC, is an adult nurse practitioner, former ICU nurse and nursing instructor. She is also a 20 plus year veteran of the land-lord tenant business.
She gained first hand experience with disease and dangerous infections while working in the intensive care units of major hospitals. Many of the unfortunate patients succumb to serious infections because of a lack of awareness and unknown exposure to dangerous pathogens. Working with these patients afforded her the opportunity to witness the ravages of infectious diseases. The risk of an unhealthy environment are all too obvious.
She now believes that we should be more determined to reduce the amount of dangerous pathogens and toxins that we and others track into our homes on the soles of shoes. Seems, logical enough.
While helping her husband maintain their rental property, she soon discovered the greatest source of their financial loss and workload -Carpets too Dirty to Clean! Unfortunately, the majority of their tenants cared very little about clean carpets or floors. 97% of them rarely, and often times NEVER, cleaned their carpets! The results were predictable. Each time a tenant moved out of a unit, ALL the carpets needed to be replaced. The average age of carpet before replaced was 1-2 years. The quality of the carpet, didn't matter- Ground In Dirt was always the final determiner. The only solution was for them to replace the carpeting throughout the home after tenants moved out. This was and continues to be an absolute nightmare!
By removing their shoes, these tenants would have had cleaner and more sanitary homes. But, unfortunately for the owners, clean floors was not a priority.
It should be no surprise that she would advocate the switch to a "No-Shoes House" after her experience taking care of the sick and working in the landlord-tenant business. Spending countless hours trying to clean filthy bathroom floors and carpets was enough to convince her to STOP tracking "that stuff" into her home on the sole of her and her husband's shoes. The custom of a Yes Shoes House no longer made sense and was in fact "Non Sense!"
